Tampa’s Award-Winning Breweries, Hand-crafted Beers, and Home Brewery Supplies

If you love to explore the taste varieties found in microbrews, you’re in for a treat. There are plenty of options to try, and some of the best ways to explore the fine, handcrafted beers is through microbrewery tours. You can visit one city and bar hop from place to place.  Tampa offers some of the best in microbrewery.

The Tampa Bay Brewing Company, located in Central Ybor, serves an extensive selection of beers and beverages. Family founded and run, the restaurant and brewery opened in 1995. They’re all about the beer, from their 8 core and 38 seasonal proprietary beers to their custom, beer-infused appetizers and award-winning entrees. The company continued to grow and opened a second location in West Chase. A notable brew to try is the Old Elephant Foot IPA™, a highly-hopped, medium bodied ale. It earned the 2015 Silver award in the Best Florida Beer Competition.

Head over to West Tampa, on Falkenburg Road North, and you’ll find ESB Brewing. This dynamic brewery is filled with ever changing selections. The founders didn’t want to be labelled with only a certain type of brew, so they offer a tap room of almost every imaginable taste you’d want. Try pale ales, wheat beers, stouts, or double IPA’s. In addition to handcrafted brews, you’ll enjoy live musicians rocking the place.

At the same location, you’ll find Tampa Booths Brewing. If you love microbrews and want to learn how to do it yourself, you need to make this a must-stop place on your tour. Customers can shop for beer and wine making basics with special equipment and supplies. Knowledgeable staffers are on hand to help you choose the right ingredients and supplies for home brewery. If you’re completing new to handcrafting your own beers, check out their how to brew classes: one for extract home brewing and the other for all-grain brewing.
